Geocaching!
I’ve heard bits and pieces about geocaching for a while now. Recently, on vacation, we were actually able to start! I got my account setup on Geocaching.com, and picked up a Magellan Explorist from the big box store, and took off! We were in a nice little town in Florida, full of retirees - but managed to pick up 16 caches in about a week. I’m hooked! My kids love it, and I think my wife is finding it easier to tolerate as the days go by…;)
Here’s one of our first finds - we actually tried this one twice, the first time without a GPS.
Believe me, it’s MUCH easier with a GPS. I’ve done some reading up on other groups, like the San Antonio Geocaching Association, and plan on attending the next meeting. There are hundreds of caches within 5 miles of my house!! Unreal! Of course, I can’t mention geocaching without a Kipkay video!
